Qualified candidates must have at least a B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering and 7-10 years of work experience with analog AND digital electronic design.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will design products using state of the art electronic components not limited to the following: DSP microprocessors, microcontrollers, digital camera microprocessors, A/D interfaces, FPGA devices, low voltage logic, and DC/DC power supply devices. This person will design, debug, and test prototype components, boards, and cameras.

Product designs involve the combination of optoelectronics, analog & digital design for interfacing to PC’s via USB, PCI, Ethernet, PixelLink, GigE as well as other common computer and camera protocols.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
  • Digital Design
  • Implement camera/chip related digital designs with CPLD design tools from a variety of vendors.
  • FPGA design, synthesis & implementation. Xilinx experience preferred
  • Interfacing FPGA to standard peripherals and microcontrollers
  • Embedded programming experience in up to 16 bit microcontrollers
  • Competency creating micro-controller/DSP firmware in VHDL is required
  • Analog Design
  • Analog Front End devices for input signal processing, low noise analog signal processing devices
  • Experience with signal conditioning of moderate bandwidth analog signals (>50 MHz)
  • A/D Converter Implementation: 12-16 bit ADC’s 1-50MHz.
  • Power Supply design to support analog & digital circuitry and experience with low noise & moderate bandwidth PCB layout & implementation.
  • Knowledge and ability to create electronic schematic diagrams, and assist and supervise others in the layout of multilayer SMD/thru hole mixed signal PCBs.
  • Optoelectronics
  • Experience with single and multi-element optical detectors (i.e. Photdiodes, CMOS detectors, and CCD’s) and their readout circuits
  • Design products that will use industry standard data interfaces such as: Ethernet, USB2.0, CameraLink, and Firewire.
  • Familiarity with optical sources (lamps, lasers, LEDs, etc) and their drive circuits a plus.
