I lost my toolbar in USBProgrammer
USBProgrammer is a legacy utility we provide to read and write serial numbers and calibration coefficients from the EEPROM slots of certain spectrometers. It also supports field-updates to FX2, FPGA, PSOC and Blackfin firmware for OEM customers.
Users can double-click the main toolbar in USBProgrammer to de-dock and “float” it as a separate tool palette. You can then double-click the palette to re-dock it in the main window. Unfortunately, if you inadvertently or querulously click the “[x] Close” box to dismiss the toolbar, there is no obvious way to get it back. Even rebooting or uninstalling / reinstalling the application don’t seem to help!
Here is a quick procedure to reset USBProgrammer to initial settings, including the toolbar position:
- Start Menu → Run → type “regedit”
- Edit → Find → type “AppWizard”
- In the tree hierarchy on the left, expand the AppWizard node to reveal a USBProgrammer entry
- Right-click on USBProgrammer and select “Delete”
- Quit RegEdit
- Re-launch USBProgrammer
