New Products and Applications for 2017

Empowering Scientists and Researchers to Solve Measurement Challenges

Modular spectrometers are more accessible than ever, enabling researchers, scientists and product developers to address a range of application challenges. Our toolkit of optical sensing solutions is robust and expansive, backed by the industry’s most knowledgeable and creative team of problem solvers.

What challenges await the research and science community in 2017? What new measurement problems can we help you solve? How can we help developers integrate spectroscopy into their sensing devices? We look forward to addressing those issues as your partners in discovery.

New Products

Next-generation Flame spectrometer. New high-sensitivity modular spectrometer has high-speed acquisition and onboard processing capabilities, and enhanced communications via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Enhanced SERS substrates. Gold, silver and nanosponge gold-silver SERS substrates let users make fast, repeatable SERS measurements for the identification and quantification of SERS-active analytes. Using precisely controlled gold nanoparticles, Ocean Optics SERS substrates amplify very weak Raman signals by many orders of magnitude, which is critical for trace level detection of explosives and other samples.

Multispectral sensing and imaging products. With the consolidation of the PIXELTEQ multispectral sensing offering into the Ocean Optics portfolio, we expanded our spectral imaging design and manufacturing capabilities in support of researchers, developers and OEMs for applications including biomedical, food and agriculture, and machine vision. Products include multispectral sensors, cameras and filters.

Light source product line updates. We’ve updated our line of light sources and radiometrically calibrated lamps to simplify the product selection process, deliver more features at comparable pricing, and ensure greater accuracy in calibrations. With illumination sources, we’ve streamlined our portfolio to make selecting the best light source for your application simpler, and to provide value-adding features such as shutters and filter holders that previously were available at additional cost. Also, we’ve simplified our radiometric calibration source offering and updated the process for calibrating setups with bare fibers, improving calibration accuracy.
