Optical Fibers

Patch Cords, Bifurcations and Optical Fiber Assemblies

Patch Cords

Patch cords are silica-core and silica-clad fibers optimized for the UV-Vis (300-1100 nm) or Vis-NIR (400-2100 nm) wavelength ranges. Solarization-resistant fibers are available for UV applications.

Bifurcated Optical Fibers

Bifurcated fibers have two fibers side-by-side in the common end and break out into two legs at the other end. Fibers are available with varying attenuation response, core diameters and assembly lengths.

Fiber Splitters

Splitters comprise three fibers epoxied at the nexus of a Y-shaped assembly and have lower transmission efficiency than bifurcated assemblies. UV-Vis and Vis-NIR versions are available.

Optical fiber accessories are useful tools for positioning optical fibers for best performance in your setups. Choose from connectors, splice bushings, and fixtures for mounting and routing fibers.

Fiber Optic Probes

Absorbance, Backscattering, Transmission

Reflection/Backscatter Probes

Reflection/backscatter probes couple to Ocean Insight spectrometers and accessories to measure reflection and fluorescence from solid surfaces or backscattering and fluorescence in liquids and powders.

Transmission Dip Probes

Transmission dip probes connect to spectrometers and light sources to measure absorbance in solutions. Probes are available for the lab and can be embedded into process streams for real-time sample monitoring.

Fiber Optic Probe Accessories

Probe accessories range from fixtures and mounts for positioning reflection probes in spectrometer setups, to spare tips and sleeves for transmission probes. Additional probe tips allow user to adjust pathlength.
