Light Sources for Spectroscopy Applications
Ocean Optics offers radiometrically calibrated light sources that are carefully measured and characterized to deliver a known quantity of light with a very low uncertainty. Sources are available that are calibrated for use with a cosine corrector (standard), integrating sphere (with HL-3P sources only), bare fiber (optional) or extended wavelength range (optional).
We’ve now streamlined our calibration source offering and have updated the process for bare fiber calibrations, improving calibration accuracy (see Tech Tip). Here is a summary of the changes:

Recalibration Services for Radiometrically Calibrated Light Sources
Calibrated sources typically provide about 50 hours of operation before requiring recalibration, and are not intended for use as an illuminant in day-to-day measurements. Recalibration service is available.

Ordering Process for Radiometrically Calibrated Light Sources
- Select a radiometrically calibrated tungsten halogen (350-1100 nm) or deuterium-tungsten halogen (200-1100 nm) light source.
- Select the type of radiometric calibration you require. The standard option is calibration with a cosine corrector. Other options are available for bare fiber calibration (-BF) and extended wavelength range calibration (-EXT), which covers 1100-2400 nm.
- Consult an Applications Scientist for assistance or with questions on custom calibrations.
