Who is eligible: Legal residents of all countries who are 18 or older are eligible to enter, unless the law of their country, state, city, province or territory of residence prohibits this contest. No purchase necessary.
Who is not eligible: Ocean Optics employees, Distribution representatives for Ocean Optics and persons working on this contest in any capacity for outside companies involved in this contest, and the immediate family members of any of the above.
Entry period: Entries will be accepted until June 3, 2016. There will be one winner selected by a random drawing on July 8, 2016 from among the eligible entries received during the entry period.
How to enter: Register by completing the survey by June 3, 2016.
Announcement of winner: The winner will be notified by e-mail and/or by telephone, or if possible will be announced on July 8, 2016, and thereafter contacted.
Necessary information and publication release: The entrant who is selected as winner agrees to allow Ocean Optics to publish their name, institution and application information. This information may be used for advertisement and publicity purposes.
Incomplete or multiple entries: Individuals may enter only once during the time published. Entries submitted by others on an individual’s behalf, or those submitted by one individual using different identities or addresses will be rejected, as will entries from states that prohibit such contests by law.
Value of prizes: The maximum value of the prize to be given away in this contest is USD $899 excluding relevant sales taxes. The prize will consist of a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Tablet and a $500 Ocean Optics equipment credit. The equipment credit cannot be exchanged for cash.
Entries not received: Ocean Optics assumes no responsibility for technical malfunctions that may prevent or postpone an entry’s receipt. All entries will become Ocean Optics property once received, and will not be returned.
Odds of winning: The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Entrant’s agreement: Entrants agree in advance to abide by the terms of these rules and by the decisions Ocean Optics makes regarding this contest, which decisions will be final and binding on all matters.
Signing documents: The winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a release before they can receive the prize. Refusal to sign the tendered release will void that person’s selection as winner.
Using winner’s name and image: Entrants grant Ocean Optics the right to use and publish their names and countries, cities, provinces and states of residence in any media in connection with the contest if they win, and also grant Ocean Optics the right to use their name and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation.
Entrant’s release: Entrants agree in advance to release and hold harmless Ocean Optics and its subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss, or damage of any kind arising from, or in connection with, this contest or any prize won.
Termination of contest: Ocean Optics reserves the right to terminate this contest at any time by posting a notice on its website.
Jurisdiction and venue: Florida law applies to this contest. It is void where prohibited for any reason. All disputes resulting in legal action shall be resolved in the courts of Pinellas County, Florida, USA, and by entering you have consented to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts. Should Ocean Optics find it necessary to seek legal assistance to enforce its rights, its damages, if any, will include reasonable legal fees and expenses.
Contest tampering or malfunctions: Ocean Optics reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify anyone who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the contest if anything required for its conduct should malfunction or be deemed illegal.
When bad things happen: Ocean Optics assumes no responsibility for anything that happens outside of its control to delay or prevent any entry, and assumes no responsibility for anything within Ocean Optics’ control that delays or prevents any entry except where by the exercise of ordinary care Ocean Optics could have anticipated it, kept it from happening, or promptly corrected it.
